Senior IT Service Management Consultant

At Rueger Consulting we are looking for a Senior IT Service Management Consultant to join our team. From the initial meetings until a solution is live, you will be both the face of the company, and the mastermind behind the implementation team. Process designs and service development will be your main focus, but managing the delivery process and mentoring the team members will keep you busy as well. And if this is not enough, we will help you to not only be a great consultant, but also teach customers and colleagues modern methodologies and best practice frameworks and facilitate business simulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pre-sales team and define together with the customer the end-to-end solution with regard to work-flow, processes, services, solution and integration designs and reporting
  • Help customers define clear requirements and support the process of choosing the best solution for those requirements
  • Document the solution design and ensure customer approval
  • Manage the solution implementation and integration team during the implementation phase by using a formal project management methodology
  • Ensure that detailed documentation is provided at each milestone by the solution implementation team
  • Organize and deliver together with the customer all project relevant workshops, trainings, business simulations and testing activities
  • Drive continuous improvements to increase Timm Rueger’s delivery efficiency and quality
  • Be creative and by collaborating with the technical team, develop next-gen technologies


  • 5 years of experience in a ITSM strategy, governance, planning, design, implementation, or operations role within a large IT organization
  • 5 years of experience in business process engineering and project management with competing resource demands in mid-to-large enterprises
  • Practical knowledge in implementation and integration of IT Service Management software (Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, HP Service Center, etc).
  • Experience with documenting and championing technical requirements that result from business process recommendations
  • Experience with reengineering processes to accommodation the adoption of new technologies and with gathering information, main points, and requirements through interviews, facilitated sessions, and best-practice research
  • Deep knowledge of the ITIL v3 service life cycle and ITSM best practices
  • Ability to drive project timelines to completion with a cross-functional team and build relationships and influence all levels in an organization
  • Ability to develop and present content in a concise and professional manner
  • Knowledge in the below areas would be a plus:
    • DevOps
    • Lean IT
    • Lean Six Sigma
    • Agile/Scrum
    • Kanban


  • ITIL v3 Expert Certification required
  • Prince2 Foundation/Practitioner certification would be a plus
  • DevOps/Lean IT/Lean Six Sigma/Scrum/Kanban certification would be a plus


  • Strong communication skills (active listener, think before acting, superb verbal and writing skills)
  • Demonstrated consulting attitude (understanding of business drivers behind technology, problem solver, attention to detail, resourcefulness, not afraid to ask questions, etc.)
  • Work alone and within a team
  • Lead others towards common goals
  • Excellent English and/or German. Additional European languages are of great advantage
  • Willingness to travel abroad (up to 50%)
